Experimental jetset posters

During the lesson today Simon talked to me about looking at some of the work from experimental jetset and incorporate it into the story based idea.
Whilst looking at some of their work I found this, the unconventional use of Helvetica. the uneven kerning and large obnoxious letters and misplaced letters. The use of red hints at the use of red within modernist typographic work.
Both of the posters break the rules of new typography as it is big, does not allow for much negative space. The layout of both posters requires interaction in that they have a more postmodernist approach to layout and cant be read as quickly as most modernist posters are.

The use of altering certain letters in order to change the look of the over all typeface.

Experimental Jetset produces this poster using the idea of the modernist idea within the use of typography. In this example, they have used Helvetica, but they have broken the rules of the modernist designer. The use of the big typography creates a more contemporary take on modernist design. The uneven kerning of the big type with the contrast of the smaller text with the even kerning and slightly increased leading. The design has minimal negative space that created a slightly cramped that slightly refers to the postmodern era.
